Food Logistics has recognized Lazer Logistics among its 2024 Top Supply Chain Projects award winners.
Lazer’s project, a unique extension of its 2017 partnership with a leading multinational Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company, stands out for its commitment to sustainability as a core aspect of its business strategy.
The CPG company was the first client to participate in Lazer’s electric vehicle (EV) program. The collaboration offered a strategic opportunity to transition to zero-emission yard operations, a significant step toward its decarbonization goals.
In 2023, the CPG company implemented Lazer’s EV solutions at six North American facilities, including Canada. The transition from diesel to EV was tailored to meet each site’s specific operational needs, considering facility layout and grid power availability.
The outcomes of this initiative were substantial:
These remarkable achievements resulted in a substantial reduction of 1.1 million pounds of CO2, a significant environmental impact equivalent to removing 119 gas-powered cars from the road for a year, avoiding 1.2 million gasoline-powered passenger car miles, and saving enough electricity to power 98 homes for a year.
“These achievements reflect Lazer Logistics’ promise to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility,” CEO Adam Newsome said. “Every day, we reduce our carbon footprint while assisting our customers with their ambitious sustainability goals.”
